This week-long adventure takes you from the rugged heights of the mountains to the serene valleys of the Alpujarras. As you traverse from west to east, you'll immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty that the Sierra Nevada offers, featuring diverse landscapes and rich wildlife. Enjoy comfortable accommodations in family-run hotels nestled in the mountains, spend a night at a cozy mountain refuge, and indulge in one extra night in the vibrant city of Granada. This is the perfect escape for those seeking both thrilling hikes in a pristine wilderness and the calming charm of picturesque valleys.
All walks are at least 6-10 hours in length and are of a medium to hard in walking ability.

Day 1
Transfer to Capileira

Day 2
3 villages - 9 km - 4-7hrs – Ascent 700m Descent 700m
A classic walk taking in the three villages of the Poquiera gorge. It is steep in places but is well worth the walk to visit Pamapaniera, Bubion and Capileira.

Day 3
Check out of hotel. You will need clothes for one night’s stay at the refugio. You will be staying in dormitories and bedding/towels are provided at the refugio, there is a bar and restaurant. Lunches can be obtained from there, just let them know the night before.
We will collect your luggage and bring it on to Trevelez.
There are two walks to the refugio one direct at 5 - 6hrs and the other via the Hydro power station 7 - 10hrs. Ascent 1400m Descent 300m
Both are great walks and have fantastic scenery along the way.

Day 4
Mulhacen - Siete Lagunas - Trevelez 7 - 10hrs Ascent 1200m Descent 1900m Setting off from the refugio you have the choice of two ways up, either make your way up the to Mirador de Trevelez, where 1500m below you can see the village of Trevelez- this is the easier way or walk towards Refugio Vivac De Caldera before walking steeply up to the summit, shorter but harder. We follow the track up to Mulhacen, the highest mountain in mainland Spain at 3482m, before we descend via the beautiful siete lagunas and then down to Trevelez and to Hotel la Fragua.

Free Day or Selection of walks that can be done from Trevelez

Check out of hotel.
Trevelez - Hotel Alquiera de Morayma - 18km 5-8hrs Ascent 400m Descent 800m A beautiful walk-through varied landscapes and walking through some beautiful white washed villages.

Day 7
Transfer to Berchules 15mins
Berchules Circuit - 15km 6-8hrs Ascent 900m Descent 900m
A great walk taking in another valley that sweeps down from the Sierra Nevada. Walking to the moors last stand and then on and up, climbing through a cool pine forest. Before coming out for great views of the Las Alpujarras below.

Day 8
Check out of hotel and transfer onwards
150 Euro each way from Malaga or Granada - hotel or airport for up to 7 people
There are good public transport links to the start and end of the hike, from Granada. Contact us for more information.
We can include a night at the end of the holiday(day 7) instead of the free day (day 5) you would go to Granada and have a day and night there – this is 100 Euro extra
